Rethinking Urban Demolition Process
Demolition waste is waste debris from destruction of buildings, roads, bridges, or other structures, where 70% of waste were concrete, followed by brick, steel, ceramic, and tile. In the present, 75% of demolition material ends up in landfills.
A concept exploration on material recycling and rethinking demolition process in the urban context.
Materials were categorised based on their lifetime and debris size, to explore multiple design possibilities: How can we design for the second-life of these materials? How can it contibute to the public? And what ecology would emerge from the rubbles?
