Defining the longest National Park Trail

The mapping of Thailand’s National Park Network, from Halabala  Southern forest complex to the Northern forest complex, to define ‘The 16,534 km Trail’; known to be the longest protected forest corridor in the country.

There are a total of some 117 Forest Parks in Thailand stretching across the country, covering a combined land surface of 1,751 square kilometres. However, due to urban growth, the national parks are scattered and disconnected, influencing the wildlife habitat, biodiversity, and migrating pattern. The project aims to reconnect all national parks and forest complex throughout the country.
